How wise of Deakin University to get enterprise bargaining out of the way before proposing a major new restructure of student services. The university has a plan to take student support out of faculties and schools and locate staff in campus-based “borderless teams” to make it easier for all students to find help, “with accurate, timely and targeted resolution at their first point of contact.”  The “one Deakin” approach also means “aligned” services for “cloud and physical campuses.”

While a bunch of people will need to move workspaces DU says there is no FTE staff reduction and existing student services staff in schools and faculties “will fill the proposed structures.”
